![]() ![]() Nicole's case was injecting air, which results in cardiac failure. Short of something immediately lethal and unsurvivable, putting something into your body has a chance of failing. It's a dark and triggering point for some people, but folks fail at suicides all the time. If someone you loved deeply sent you a disturbing video like that, I imagine your first reaction would be to get to that person as quick as possible to find out what the fuck is actually going on. Even if he did watch the whole video, all he saw was her inject something into her arm (from what I recall). There's multiple reasons, but I think the main one would be confusion and uncertainty. Eh, the story isn’t perfect, but I enjoyed it and the atmosphere enough to overlook some of the things that didn’t jive perfectly. I’d like to have seen Isaac “playing both sides” (ie carrying out his and Nicole’s actions) just to reinforce exactly just how crazy/delusional he had gotten, though that would be very challenging for the devs given the decision for Isaac to be a silent protagonist. The part I wish had been shown was when Kendra says something like “you should have seen yourself” because there’s moments where Nicole is actively helping you and opening doors and stuff. There is something implausible about her helping Isaac given the necromorph outbreak and unnatural about their interactions, even in earlier part of the game that makes it seem like it’s all in his head. ![]() Either way, personally, I was really into the part of the story where isaac starts seeing Nicole because of the “dementia” caused by the marker that made a lot of the other characters on the ship go bat shit crazy as well. ![]() Alternatively it may have made more sense if Kendra intentionally left out the part of the video where Nicole dies to manipulate Isaac into going in the first place (ie making her turn as a villain more effective). I suppose you could infer that he did watch it all the way to end and decided to go anyway because he was either a) in denial or b) wanted closure. I suppose it doesn’t make much sense as to why he wouldn’t, but in the context of DS1, I took it at face value because it’s the only way the twist makes a whole lot of sense. I haven’t played 2 (yet) but yah, Kendra says he didn’t watch the video to the end. ![]()
